Development of bending forming process for welded pipe mill


      Until now, the bending forming process of welded pipe mill has been in constant progress, in recent fifty years, the bending forming process experienced three stages of technological progress: continuous bending method - arc bending method and composite forming method.

      Continuous bending method is from the edge part of the tube began to bend, from edge to center of continuous bending, bending and forming process of the traditional unit are used in continuous bending method; arc bending method is the overall length of bending tube, bending curvature time separation from large to small, the roller unit the bending process is arc bending method; composite molding method is an edge portion of the tube blank continuous bending, the middle section of the tube and the connecting section of circular arc bending, bending forming process of F-F-X unit is used in combined bending method.

      (1) traditional forming continuous bending method is the most used traditional forming method has been used in the traditional molding method, are generally carried out on real bending edge part continuous bending method is used for the vertical roller assisted free bending, and then enter the close pass of overall bending.

      (2) ERW cage roll forming by circular arc bending method. The production method of roll forming plays an important role in the production of longitudinal welded pipe. The basic features of roll forming are vertical roll arrangement to enlarge the compatibility of the die roll as much as possible. The most obvious feature of row roll forming, is it set up a special roller group. With this set of row roller groups, it is convenient to adjust the roll position according to the molding diameter, and the forming line of the roller arrangement is much shorter than the traditional unit, which is the advantage of the roller train unit. But, because the row roller group mainly uses the free bending, for the thick diameter is bigger, the steel grade higher tube molding is more difficult, this is decided by the row roller forming nature. The main advantage of roll forming is its compatibility, and it also has its own defects.

      (3) F-F-X F-F-X molding molding is a combination molding method, is in the last century in 80s, by the Japanese manufacturing and Zhongtian University of Tokyo after nearly ten years of research and practice, forming a new way forward. F-F-X is the prefix of the first letter of the English "bending forming system", and F-F-X created a completely new round tube forming model. This forming method will bend forming tube as a linked system influence each other, it will bend, bend space organically, developed the original mode of involute roller forming system and digital control system.
